Today was the official weigh-in day. During week one of Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet I netted a total weight loss of... 4.5 pounds! Yippee!! That means I am 3 pounds away from my weight at the San Diego Marathon and 9 pounds away from my weight a year ago.
I look forward to Week Two, which begins today. I'll do better because I'll make the time to exercise (I only did running twice and nothing else this week) and I'll drink more water. Bring it on.
Funny note (at least, funny to me): I played a couple of games of Trivial Pursuit with a friend last night. We played at the Dessert Gallery (not my choice). I would like to say that, despite being a cookie-fiend and a sugar-addict, I ate nothing from there but a salad and three cups of decaff coffee. The smell of sugar permeated the air (and boy, did it smell good) and my friend ate a chocolate chunk cookie dunked in chocolate (mmmmmmmmmm) and I did not waver in my stance.
