New Shoes! New Shoes!

I got new running shoes today! Woo-hoo! Mine are almost 4 months old and have too many miles on them. But I almost had a scare.

I decided to use Runsport for my purchase since I had a 20% discount coupon. I had a feeling they'd have to order my shoes (since I have big feet). Yep, they had to call it in. But then, 15 minutes later, they call my cell and tell me that Aasics doesn't have any in my size in the warehouse and they don't know when they'll get more in. WHAT???!!! And they called Fleet Feet in the Village for me, and the biggest size they had was an 11 (I wear an 11.5 - my shoes are 10s normally).

Crap. This does not make me happy. I like my kind, and I don't want to have to find another one. Sigh. I'll head over to Luke's Locker, just in case. They're the ones who sold me my others so maybe they'd have one last pair. And if I'd have to get another style, I trusted them.

I go to Luke's Locker, and not only do they have my kind in my size, but Aasics updated them and they're actually cool looking! I bought them promptly, and went happily to track practice.

I get to track practice and discover that they're repainting the track. Damn. We have to run in the field and I'm sure as hell not doing it in my new, clean shoes. So I don my old shoes for the run tonight.

I want to wear my new shoes and break them in soon, but I see only dirt paths of Memorial and Rice in my future. Sigh. I guess the dirt is inevitable.

But they're so shiny and they smell nice.

Cheers!
Erica

I had the same thing happen to me with my current shoes. Too bad, I really like that 20% coupon from RunSport.

You can no longer tell my shoes are new, thanks to Memorial Park. *sigh* So sad when the dirt gets to them. They were so nice & clean. :(
