What a Great Day

I had a great day overall, and I thought I'd share it.

First of all, my alarm went off at 4:30am. Although I've been running, I haven't been to the gym to lift weights in almost 3 weeks (I blame the Rodeo and late nights). Since I didn't have rehearsal last night, I thought I'd go today.

After my alarm went off, I stood on the side of my bed for (I kid you not) 6 minutes, contemplating actually going to the gym or going back to sleep in my warm feather heaven. I decided to go on, since I was already up. At the gym, I went on the elliptical machine for 35 minutes (and updated myself with the latest celebrity gossip magazines) and then hit the circuit machines for 40 minutes.

Work was pretty good. I have one class period that's tougher than others (it has the highest number of low achievers and delinquents in there) and it went pretty smoothly - my blood pressure stayed normal. :)

After work, I went for a 6 mile run. I walked outside and lo and behold - it was a perfect 55 degree afternoon. Rice, here I come!

Here's the stats:
Distance: 6 miles
Pain: none
Hydration: pretty good
Intervals: ran a mile, walked 40 seconds. (endurance run)

Andy showed my how to find the laps, so here we go!
Mile 1- 12:13 (no walk break)
Mile 2- 12:24 (with walk break)
Mile 3- 12:27
Mile 4- 12:37
Mile 5- 12:07
Mile 6- 12:23
Average time: 12:20!!!!!!! Yes, it was a great run. The last endurance run I had averaged 13:07 minute miles.

Now it's almost time for rehearsal and I'm drinking a very yummy homemade smoothie, which is becoming my favorite post-run, pre-rehearsal dinner. Mmm.....

Cheers!
