I had another wonderful run!
I woke up this morning and didn't feel much pain (suprisingly). None in my left calf, only slight in my right quadricep. After dropping my car at the shop (yes, it had to go AGAIN - it shorted again, thus losing back lights and dash lights again), I went to Rice. Actually, I stopped at Starbucks and read a bit because it was a bit chilly outside. As I read, I kneaded my right quad, hoping to loosen it up.
My run was nice. The weather was beautiful again and I averaged a 12:51 pace throughout the 6 miles (2+ loops around Rice), which makes me happy. I felt tightness in my left achilles heel towards the end, but not bad enough to stop and stretch. All in all, despite the hard workout yesterday, I felt damn good! One thing that suprised me is that I realized I tended to go faster when I was getting tired. I think I was overcompensating, thinking I had to go faster to go normal. But I felt wonderful.
Until I got home.
After my run, I walked .2 to cool down and then went home. Upon getting out of the car I'm driving today, I immediately felt the pain in my right quad - it's like there's a tennis ball inside my leg. And as I sit here, my left achilles heel is tightening up.
Luckily, today is clean-up/laundry day, so I'm going to stay home and probably ice my achilles tendon and quad, trying to get them back to normal. They're not an injury pain, more of an overusage pain. I'll be fine by tomorrow.
If worse comes to worse, I won't run again until Saturday's 18-miler. But I know me. I just need to rest.
Cheers!

We missed you at the TNT dinner last night. It was a good time.
Sorry you're in pain. You should get a roller for your quad. It hurts like a sonofabitch to use it, but it really does help a lot. Hope you feel better soon.
